Happy New Year!

With the start of this 2009 New Year, I thought I’d take this chance to start my very own blog. Partly because I’ve had a few friends ask me to do so, but also because I think it could be a good means for me to share some thoughts and keep old friends updated on my life. So here it goes!

As I returned home early this morning from ringing in the New Years in New York City with three of my good buddies and brother, I couldn’t help but think of all the wonderful trips, adventures and accomplishments that occurred this past year.  Below are a few of them along with a few pictures.  My new year’s resolution last year was to try and do as many new things that I possibly could. People get so wrapped up in ruts in their lives that they fail to try and experience new things. Every year I want to experience the new and exciting things that life has to offer, to test and stretch myself to become a better person. I hope to again make that resolution this year, along with of course getting back in shape and eating healthier!

I started off last year taking a solo road trip out to Colorado to see my mountains and friends at the Double RL Ranch. I left on New Year’s Eve and rang in the New Year by myself in my Tahoe crossing the great state of Texas. I spent about a week out there in the cold San Juan Mountains sleeping in my Tahoe and a couple of nights in the bunkhouse at the RRL. I remember one night I spent up in the mountains it getting down to 5 degrees.  I nearly froze my butt off, but had to be one of the best times nights ever.  This year I rang in the New Year in New York!! We had the best time ever staying at the New York Hilton, seeing the sites, and hanging out in the local pubs. But definitely didn't beat last years countdown in my Tahoe! ha
